Medical image computing is a core theme of research at University College London (UCL) with internationally recognised activities crossing multiple centres, institutes and departments. Our long-standing focus on medical imaging and devices, data science, artificial intelligence and robotics was recognized with a recent EPSRC-award for a Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent, Integrated Imaging In Healthcare. Through the CDT and with allied academic staff, projects at UCL cover a wide variety of imaging modalities, devices, theories and applications.
With this sixth MedICSS event we aim to allow young scientists from the international community to engage with both UCL and invited experts in a diverse range of image computing topics. As part of the course delegates will learn about the newest developments in the medical imaging field. As well as lectures by scientific leaders we will promote activity-based learning through interactive breakout sessions which will encourage collaboration, critical thinking and scientific discovery.
