Personalized Model-based Therapy
|Wednesday 26th June 2019|
14:00 – 17:30
Modern Surgery and image-guided interventions are heavily dependant on the convergeance of information management and technology. This development requires a combination of classic medical approaches, interactive devices with modern information systems.
Individualised Patient Model-based therapy enables a patient-specific diagnosis and therapy selection, application and management. This approach can improve patient safety, increase therapeutic efficacy, treatment precision and treatment effectiveness. The procedures require “smart” biomedical systems that adapt to patient-specific parameters, i.e. robotic systems for dynamic (re-)positioning of effectors.
Decision support systems based on the treatment model facilitate the conduct of surgery or interventions. In this focus session, international experts will present the state of research and development covering key perspectives of implementation and clinical applications to show the potential clinical value.
