VR and Digital Twin-Based Teleoperation of a Robotic Arm
The HRI and control lab at The University of Manchester does ground breaking research on ways to bring robots closer to humans in a safe and reliable way. We explore different ways to control and interact with robots, producing novel methods and interfaces. We aim to improve the interaction of humans and robots by making the latter easier to control and understand. One of our projects explores the intuitive teleoperation of a robotic arm inside a Virtual Reality (VR) world. Our setup allows for a human operator to teleoperate a robotic arm using their hands in a virtual environment. The virtual robotic arm is synchronized with the real robotic arm through cloud server.
